After striking 26-year-old Zhang Miao with his car in Xi'an on October 20, 2010, music student Yao Jiaxin killed her to prevent her from reporting the collision. He was convicted of intentional homicide, lost his provincial appeal, underwent Supreme People's Court review and was executed in June 2011.
