Disappearance and identification
Mohammad Haidarov worked in the jewellery industry in Dubai. His brother, Abdul Ahad Haidarov, told Gulf News that the family lost contact with Mohammad for months and that he travelled to Dubai to report him missing. Police later contacted the family after finding a body in the desert near Jebel Ali. The remains were identified as Mohammad through DNA testing and clothing evidence described in the contemporary report.
The case was reported without any need for graphic detail. What matters for the criminal chronology is that investigators linked the disappearance, the recovery of the body and the theft of Haidarov's property to a planned robbery.
Prosecution theory
Dubai Public Prosecution charged three Uzbek men, identified in court reports as K.A., S.L. and E.A., with premeditated murder and theft. Police said Haidarov had been induced to withdraw cash in connection with what he believed was a car purchase. The prosecution alleged that the men then took him to a remote area, killed him and stole a bag containing money and other property.
Because the published court reports use initials for the accused, this page does the same. It does not substitute guessed identities or expand the allegations beyond what the court reporting established.
Convictions and appeal
The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the three defendants and imposed life imprisonment, described in the reporting as a 25-year term under the applicable sentencing framework. Gulf News later reported that K.A. was the only defendant who pursued the case to the Dubai Court of Cassation.
On October 5, 2007, the newspaper reported that the Court of Cassation confirmed K.A.'s sentence. The source does not establish a separate cassation ruling for S.L. or E.A.; this page therefore states their first-instance convictions without inventing later appellate history for them.
