Three women were murdered in Lisbon between 1992 and 1993 in crimes that investigators believed were connected. The victims were found in separate locations, and similarities in the cases led the unknown offender to become known as the Lisbon Ripper.

Investigation

Portuguese police examined possible links to other crimes and considered several suspects. One man later made claims about the murders in a television context, but the available evidence did not support a prosecution. No definitive forensic link identified the killer.

Legal status and legacy

The identity of the offender has never been established in court. The three killings remain among Portugal's most prominent unresolved serial-murder cases.
