Seventeen-year-old Emilie Meng disappeared after arriving at Korsør railway station early in the morning. Her remains were found months later near Borup. The investigation became one of Denmark's largest and most criticized missing-person cases.

Investigation

Years later, the abduction of another young girl led police to a suspect and new evidence. Investigators connected the man to Meng through forensic and circumstantial material, alongside evidence relating to other attacks.

Legal status and legacy

In 2024, a Danish court convicted Philip Westh of murdering Meng and of other serious offenses. He received life imprisonment. The conviction transformed the long-running cold case into a solved case.
